Briana McRae

Graduate Student

Briana is a PhD candidate in the Neurobiology & Behavior Program at Columbia. She is co-advised by Dr. Itamar Kahn and Dr. Bianca Jones Marlin, with whom she studies how motherhood changes the brain in mice. Specifically, she is interested in how brain-wide neural responses to pup vocalizations change with motherhood experience. Briana is originally from New Jersey and graduated from MIT in 2020 with a degree in Brain and Cognitive Sciences and a minor in Computer Science. Outside of lab, Briana is part of the team organizing monthly neuroscience outreach events through Saturday Science. She also enjoys dancing, doodling, and exploring NYC with friends.
